Content Server 6.40 installation.

Dear All,

Currently, i have installed the Content Server 6.40 on Windows Server 2008 R2. I perform the installation with reference to the inst guide which downloaded from SMP (Installation - Content Server 6.40 on Windows). The installation went well with no errors.

Unfortunately, when i try to check the connection to the Content Server and Cache Server after the installation, it is not working. I checked through the browser with the following string:

http://<hostname>:1090/ContentServer/ContentServer.dll?serverInfo

http://<hostname>:1095/Cache/CSProxyCache.dll?serverInfo

The error message showing that the page cannot be displayed.

Looking forward for any expert advice and guides.

Thanks,

Fikri

Hi Frikri,

I had the same problem with Content server 6.4 running on Windows 2008 R2 IIS 7.5.

This is the list of IIS services which works for me at the end:

To reset my changes I rather executed Websitemancs to redeploy Content server.

Now  http://<hostname>:1090/ContentServer/ContentServer.dll?serverInfo works.

(I don't installed Cache...)

Hope it helps.

There is some compatibility issue with IIS 7.5. Please check the roles of IIS 7.5 and WebDav IIS Role in IIS 7.5. Please uninstall that particular role and try again.

Hi Subash,

Thanks for the prompt respond.

I am adding the iis role via Server Manager > Add Roles > IIS. This is done before the installation begin. Once the role added, i tested it from the browser using http://localhost and it shows the IIS version is 7.1.

If there are some compatibility issue with IIS version 7 and above, will it be possible to install the lower version on our current OS platform? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Fikri,

I was facing the same problem while i was working on same release. But as i remember in my Case it was 7.5, i have configured through Server Manager > Add Roles > IIS and selected all the roles, but later on SAP suggested to remove the role which i have specified earlier and after that it was working fine. i was able to see the Content Server information on browser.

I have no idea about this. May be someone else can give you a better answer on this.

Hi Subash,

I have installed the IIS 6 compatibility for Windows Server 2008 R2. Now i can display my Content Server and Cache Server name in the IIS Manager list.

Just to have some opinion from your expertise, i am referring to note # 658442. In my IIS Manager, I cannot see the Web Service Extensions function displayed. Any idea on how to get it? This is to add the new Web Service Extensions.

Thanks in advance for your kind assistance.

Fikri
