External range for checklist item and task

Hi Experts,

is possible to assign a custom external_id for tasks and cheklists item?

I unlocked those fields in SPRO but it doesnt work.

At first it seems to be changed but when i enter in object it has the old value.

thanks for your answer.

I know the BADI (that is DPR_ATTRIBUTES) whre you can insert the custom external_id but it doesn't work.

Also manually, i insert the new external_id and it seems to work. I can save and is ok.

But when i enter again in the project, the external_id is the old one.

I unlocked the field via customizing and i dont know why this is the behaviour.

Yes it should be possible to generate external numbers for tasks, checklists, phases, projects, portfolio items etc. At this time I'm unable to provide the exact user exit for task external numbering but look for the appropriate BADI / exit and use the method GENERATE_EXTERNAL_ID, create the number range is via SNRO and use the function 'NUMBER_GET_NEXT' to get the next sequential number.

I will update the thread with the appropriate user exit for Task external numbering later..Hope this helps.
