Shadow tables of E fact table.

I have successfully Re-partitioned one cube, now the E fact shadow table has same records as the E Fact table has. It's huge, almost 52 lakh.

A) Is this shadow table data is important ?

B) If 'NO' then is there any Standard program to delete shadow table data ? Or Should I contact our basis guy ?

Hi,

The shadow table is just a temporary storage, and once the partition is complete it can be deleted.

You can use SE14 to delete the table.

In se14, give the name of the shadow table (/bic/4E<cube name>) and execute. In the next screen click on 'Delete Database Table'. This will delete the table. Just make sure that you delete the correct table.
