Employee Sub Group Change Effect for Non Payroll employees

Hi Experts

I have a requirement to change the employee subgroup for some contract employees (for whome payroll is not running) only time hours need to be booked.

Please let me know what are the things to be taken care off?

what will be the consequesnces in the existing system?

How to change the ESG, whether through a separate Action?

When should be changed (start of the month would be better no)?

Please help me in this regard.
