product category - from manual to automatic distribution

Hi,

Sofar, we have in a SRM 4.0 system with multiple backends the product categories replicated in each system of our landscape: development, test and production. That`s why we have to do a lot of customizing in the production system manually (like G/L account determination, tax determination ...).

We now want to use the transport process to distribute new or changes in the product category configuration area from development to production system. How could that be achieved? Refreshing the development environment - meaning deleting the product categories, transport via client copy or com_category_transport the production system entries to development and starting to use the transport process for all new changes. Anybody has experience with that? Anybody has thoughts on the feasability of this?

I just noticed that most of the customizing tables that contain product category can only be in total transported via transport request, no single entry possible. Does that mean you have to use com_category_transport for single entries?
