PO release strategy error

Dear gurus

We have recently changed our release strategy. Now if we change any existing PO, system will re-trigger release strategy.

We want to restrict this to a qty or value change in the PO. But now even a text change will re-trigger release strategy.

Is there any way to handle this?

in standard system release will be re triggered if there is an upward revision in the total value or any change in the release characterisitic values. are you using standard or is there any enhancement. have you enabled version management?

Hi Ajith

We have changed the characteristc values i.e. changes were made to the approval limits and for some doc types, we have increased the number of release codes. Having said that, now if any changes are made to description of material , revising the po value downwards etc re-triggers the release strategy. Could you or anyone suggest how to control this via any enhancement point/user exit/bapi etc.

Hi,

May be User exit there for any changes in PO to trigger release. But User exit u2013 EXIT_SAPLEBND_002 can be used to trigger release for any value or quantity changes.
