Can not get DB connection. Batchconfig will only be able to execute offline

Hi,

I have successfully installed EP6.0 standalone Java (NW 04 - SP9) with OS as windows 2003 X64 and Oracle 10.2.0.1.0 as database.

Now i need to update the package to SP27.

When i initially started to update J2ee engine 6.40 via sapinst i encounter below issue

ERROR 2011-05-19 13:11:13

CJS-20076 Error while retrieving the mode of the Java engine. SOLUTION: See output of logfile C:\Program Files\sapinst_instdir\PATCH\ORA/getEngineMode.log: 'Can not get DB connection. Batchconfig will only be able to execute offline tasks.'.

Checks done from my side :

1. Database is Up and able to connect. Also listener is up.

2. System is UP and running.

Kindly can anyone suggest me how to resolve above issue.

Hi,

Please check if the connection to database works without problems

through ConfigTools. SAPINST (in Java) uses JDBC drivers in order to

reach the database, please check if the parameters are set properly on

Secure Store.

Make sure you are working with the latest JDBC drivers.
