Webi report (User modify report but can't save)

Hi Guys,

I have one ques. regarding Webi report (Access Level), that User can view & modify a report but can't save.

Kindly reply ASAP.

hey, i have exactly you need, and i think i need exactly you have....

whats your config so far for the user?

what i have is the Edit this object right set to my user, that enable edit, modify and save the report, what i need is let the user edit and modify, but Not Save the changes... just analyze data.

Hi Amit,

I gone thugh ur given link, bt still i didn't get any option (regad. Save document).

According to me there is no any option in XI 3.1. have one option that i create 2 Users one for only view and other can modify & save also.

I need ur suggestion.

Hi,

Even i did not find any way to do in the cmc.one thing you can do users can do modify but they can not save as report in the folder.

hi,

If I understand your requirement correctly, you are saying that user is able to view and modify the report. But he is unable to save the modifications.

If so,

Navigate to CMC -> Applications -> Web Intelligence -> User Security

Verify the Access Levels by clicking 'View Security'.

If permission is not provided, click 'Assign Security' -> Adavnced -> Add/Remove Rights -> General/Application

and grant the required right.

General -> Edit this Object (should be Granted)

Application -> Web Intelligence ->

"General Rights for Web Intelligence"

- Edit this object

In case of WEBI Rich Client, Grant the following

"Specific Rights for Web Intelligence"

- Web Intelligence Rich Client : Save a document locally on the file system

- Web Intelligence Rich Client: Save a document for all users

hi,

I have used the same Rights in my CMC (Application--> Web intellegence) accrod. to u, bt still 'Save' button is enable in webi report (means still user can save report after modification).

Kindly can u check on ur level & let me know.

hi,

The steps i have provided will enable Save button and user can do modifications.

If You want the user to view and modify but not save the modifications, i am not sure on this.

But if you want user to view and not to modify the report,

Deny the following.

Content -> Web intelligence -> Edit Objects

Content -> Web intelligence -> Edit Objects that userowns
