Hello experts,
I have searched a lot on SDN ,but couldn't find a document which exactly explains the advantages and disadvantages of CTS+ over File system Transport basically a table with points and the status of those points with CTS+ and File System Transport.
Can you please help.
Best Regards,
Shweta
CTS+ is for transportation of DEV & Configurations done in PI DEV system to Quality & Production.
In file transport, there is no mapping of system from DEV-QTY-PRD, but in CTS+ you will do this mapping of systems.
There is a track of transports, but in file mapping there is no track of transports.

Hi,
Addition to the above
Using File system ABAP transports cannot be done...
CTS+ handles the transports for ABAP and Non ABAP Objects in a similar fashion ..which was not the case with CTS...
Which helps to track and manage the changelist objects unlike file system..
I dont think any document avaialable stating these differences..need to search and prepare..

The enhanced Change and Transport System (CTS+) enables you to transport Portal/Java objects and SAP-related non-ABAP applications in your system landscape, along with your ABAP objects. You can also administer non-ABAP systems in a CTS transport domain in SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP.

You can integrate NWDI with CTS+ and have the transports moved through CTS+.
Also, you utilize CTS+ for portal related transports as well.
To start with, have a look at the following How to guides:

Chances are you will not be granted file system access as XI dev so CTS is really the only
viable alternative.
