Question about how to recover a query characteristic

Former Member

Hi,

I have joined to the 'fiscal year/period' characteristic, of a bi query, from visual composer. I get the values for that characteristic but, I don't know why I see the values thus:

Period 00 2004

Period 01 2004

....

January 2004

February 2004

....

JAN 2004

FEB 2004

...

If I go to BEX the values for this characteristic are as follows:

001.2004

002.2004

....

Can any body tell me why I see different tha values between both tools?

Thanks in advance.

Regards.

Hi David ,

I am not really clear about your question .But just check what is the source of

data you have chosen for your characteristic in VC , is it from Dimension or masterdata

table . Pls click on configure element for that particular characteristic and check the same.

Also pls check what are you displaying in vc , is it the key/text/ext_key etc .

Hi Vineeth,

the source of data I have choosen is the BI infoobject 0FISCPER.

In my BI query I use this infoobject as a range and, this is a mandatory variable in the query.

I mean, I have to give a value like this:

01.2004

or

01.2004:05.2007

...

David,

I guess u have a query where you have 0fiscper in ur input selection.

You can try to create an input help using the wizard for this and it will guide you through the steps.

You will need to choose whether you need data from dimension/master data tables and finally the values to be displayed

(key/text/ext_key) in the value help table for fiscper . Since you are using a mandatory variable you would

need to use ext_key as your key field . Hope this was what you were referring to.
