Which EHP need for SAP ESS MSS

Hello,

I am web dynpro ABAP Consultant. We are going to implement SAP ESS MSS portal for an HR project. Project requires lot of adobe interactive forms and web dynpro ABAP stuff. Currently we have EHP.0 . I dont know whether EHP.0 is enough or i have to go for higher verisons like (EHP 3..4..5) Please let u know which EHP verison have to implement.

I would recommend you to implement EHP4 as you have Processes and forms which are based on interactive Adobe forms

and can be used for the scenarios you mentioned.

Both your backend and frontend should be on EHP4.

Also its better to have ehp4 as it has more functionality than EHP1,2,3

Correct it will WD ABAP for HCM p and f in ehp4

Hi,

it depends what exactly you want to implement. If you say, you want to implement a lot of WebDynpro for ABAP stuff, would that be standard or custom? If you are on ECC 6.0 at the moment on your backend, you cannot use the new standard WD4A Applications, for example Travel Management (most come in EHP4/EHP5). Also, before that, the Business Packages in Portal deliver most in WD4J, not WD4A.

In my humble opinion, I think it would be best to go for EHP5 directly, because then you have the choice to completely use WD4A for all standard scenarios in Portal. However, you can of course custom WD4As if you are on ECC 6.0 and can also integrate them into portal.

Hi Lukas,

Thanks for your immediate help. We are going to implement Standard SAP ESS MSS(india) for PA , OM ,PT and payroll. How ever, we need to develop some custom WD4A applications. Moreover, their is a scope of developing adobe interactive forms for compensation letter ,tax forms and approval letters.

Presently We have ECC6.0 and enhancement package EHP.0. We need to know whether EHP.O is enough to go ahead the project or we need to implement EHP 3 or EHP4 or EHP5? Let me know what is the difference in versions of EHP 1, 2..5.
