Hi,
I have a general query.
We have a ECC 6.0 System (only ABAP) running on Windows with Oracle as DB. We want to first upgrade it to EHP4 and then as a second step, we want to install (or add) the Java stack to the system.
Is this possible, first EHP4 Upgrade and then installing the Java stack?
Many thanks,
Mohan.
Hi,
As of SAP NetWeaver 7.0 including enhancement package 1, the
installation option Java Add-In for ABAP is disabled.
That is, you can no longer install the Java Add-In to an existing ABAP
system.
The only possible option is to install the Java Addin is before the
upgrade to EHP using NW 7.00.
According to note 855534 as of ECC 6.0, EHP4 the Java engine can no
logner be installed as an add-on.
This restriction is true as of basis release NW 7.00 EHP1 on which
ECC6 EHP4 is based.
So that means after installing ECC6 EHP4 - you won't be able to install
a Java Addin - instead of this you would have to do a seperate
installation of a Java Standalone system / stack which is possible.

Aidan
