Dear Experts,

Can I run cost estimate more than once i a month. If it is possible what are the consequences and disadvantages.

If not possible what is the reason.

Can any one help me in this issue.

Dear Balu,

SAP does not recommend releasing standard cost estimate more than once a period for the reasons mentioned by Mr. Vimal.

However you can do so, if the need arises due to some error or any other business reason after deleting previous cost estimate through CKR1.

As you are following stadard costing the idea is that you keep the value of your goods as standard for a measurable period ie atleast a month. It doesn't make any business or analytical sense if you change your price every now and then. One of the reasons is that inventory valuations, variance bookings and analysis etc happens at month end. Another disadvantage i can forsee is the difficulty in analysing the variances at the month end if you have more than one standard price for the same period.

These are the resons y SAP doesn't allow cost estimate release more than once a month. I'm not aware of the work arounds if any.
