Firewall issue

Hi guys,

I've installed SAP 8.81 pl04 on a server, but I'm having issues with the firewall. I have made exceptions for the following ports:

445, 139, 1433, 30000, 30001

SAP Service Manager as an exception

When I try to log in via a client on another workstation, it asks for the licence server and will not log in unless I disable the firewall on the server.

Anyone have any ideas?

Costas

HI

Have you checked the "network location type" in Firewall Configuration of the operating system?

I think the program will be in different network location i.e public or private.....

So you please check it and revert me back...

OR

Connect the systems to the same workgroup

Hi, thanks for the reply

I just checked on the server firewall it says "Network Location: Domain Network"

as far as I know the clients are on the domain. They have access to the shared folders on the server.

Hi

I already had "SAP Business One" as an exception. I forgot to mention it at the top.

HI

Did you enable the notification in Firewall....so when a firewall block a program, you will get a notification and on seeing the notification, you will get an idea that which program has blocked.....

you should disable your windows firewall and enable antivirus firewall with rule trusting all computer in same network.

Thanks for the replies.

None of this seems to be working. Sometimes it's up to the customer whether they want to have Windows firewall enabled or disabled, so I can't really do that.

hi Costas,

Greetings of the day.

well which server u r using? whats the OS?

go to windows firewall at the server and dont disable it.

add three exceptions to it, while adding exceptions or rules, select port.

1. 30000 Type TCP

2. 1433 Type TCP.

3. 1434 Type TCP

4. 1434 Type UDP.

Add the exception both in Inbound rules as well as outbound rules.

restart the server.

Client side, add program SAP B1 as allow in the firewall.

it should work.

just let me know in case u need any help.

thanks and regards.
