BOM usage

Dear All,

Iam working in R/3, we are using different usage of BOM is used. Is it possible for APO to take the customized BOM usage for CIF. APO team is telling they need only BOM usage 1.

Can we use the customised usage for APO CIF.

APO will use BOMs where the items are relevant for production. In standard R/3, this would only be BOM Usage '1'. However, BOMs which have a customized BOM usage can also be used, provided the BOM items are relevant for production.

Thanks for the information. Since APO consultant told they need to do lot of development if we use different BOM usage other than 1.

This may still be true. I am talking about standard SAP, standard SCM, standard CIF. If your consultants are creating a customized solution, it is possible that they have coded their modifications so as to expect '1'. You would be well advised to approach them and ask for an explanation.
