Settings required for MRP run

Dear All;

We are a manufacturing company, with over 10 plants.

Only one of the plants does manufacturing then distributes to the rest through cross company transfers.

Each company individually plans its FG requirements and passes them the manufacturing plant in form of demand forecasts for the following month.

The manufacturing plant then plans for raw materials and production as per the requests.

We want to use Sales Operations plan (SOP) and MRP run to carryout the activities i have described above in the system.

Kindly advised me on the settings we need to make in the system in order to achieve this.

Hi Opio,

You have asked a very broad question. Infact its apure consulting issue and needs underlaying business study.

From whatever information you have provided...

1. You can go for standard SOP with info sturcture S076 planning. You can create product group ( clubbing of materials) or directly plan at material level itself. You create demand plan using MC87 and then transfer requirement to MRP with MC74.

Please study SAP help for further detail on SOP.

2. For MRP you have to maintain material master of each material in all the plants they are planned. You can use special procurement keys( production in another plant ) to genreate interplant requirements.

3. You will have to run MRP in planning plant first and then run the MRP for actual manufcaturing plant.

Hi,

In SOP , create rough cut plan through Tcode mc87 and transfer to demand management mc74. Indepenedent requirement is generated.

Than run MRP through T-code md02 .

Planned order in creted for the FG which is to be produce .

See the result in md04

than open the planned order and release to production order..

after that confirm FG receipt and consumption of RM

than transfer the FG material to require plant for further process.
