When to use full processing in dimension

Hello, I am not finding any good info on Help.sap.com regarding this. When you process a dimension, when is it necessary to select full process option?

Hi,

Whenever you add a property, or a member is inserted in the middle of the member sheet, or when a change is done to the hierarchy, the dimension is fully processed. On the other hand, whenever a change in the member sheet doesnt make any difference to the structure of the dimension, it is incrementally processed.

The system automatically takes the decision whether the processing should be full or incremental. However, you can force the system to do a full processing by selecting the check box while processing the dimension.
