Vendor Delivery Dates and Planning Calendar

Dear All,

I have searched through the forums and have struggled to get an answer that works.

My scenario is as follows

Vendor A delivers Material A on Tuesday's and Thursday's

I have created a planning calendar for Weeks(workdays) for Tuesday and Thursday and then assigned the calendar to Material A

When I run MRP on PD and Lot size PK

I then run MRP and it brings back a Preq for Wednesday - even though this is not on the planning calendar!

Secondly, if I have Vendor B who also delivers Material A but on Fridays how do cater for that as planning calendars are only assigned to materials and not vendors.

Hi,

Planning calender affect only capacity planning & order start & finish date, it not has any concern with vendor supply or requirement creation.

You need to change your MRP type , check time based planning (R1 etc) and maintain Planning time fence & planning cycle.

you can also check V1 (vendor managed inventory but i m not sure on it.

You may want to copy lot size key PK to another (says ZK) and change scheduling to be 1 - Period start = delivery date.

Please try and revert.

As for planning calendar per vendor, it is not possible in standard MRP run.
