Hi All,
We had a question regarding : if we can use Home Page Frame Work area configuration to assign services in MSS - similar to what can be done in ESS ?
In the past, we've created custom ESS applications and placed it on custom areas, sub areas in ESS using Home Page config in the IMG , we have also used the proxy class to dynamically hide the services from some ESS users. We have done this successfully in the past.
However, this time we have created custom MSS application and trying to find out if it works in a similar manner to ESS -- i.e Can we configure this MSS service (Resources, services, area , sub areas etc) in the homepage framework area and plug in the proxy class in the services such that this MSS application is available to few managers only ?
We have tried configuring ..and looks like Home Page Framework Area is not supported for MSS .. it works only for ESS - Just wanted to check on this forum if anyone was able to successfully configure home page frame work area for MSS ? IF not what are the options - Will it be Role based approach ?
We are on BP 1.1 for ESS and MSS
Thanks,
Jay

Hi Jay
We have been using Home Page Area Framework for ESS and MSS without any issues.
We have created lot of custom apps in MSS and have used Home Page Area Framework to display them. Yes we too have created resources, services, area , sub areas etc, used proxy classes in MSS.
Let us know the challenges you faced, we should be able to overcome.

MSS doenst completely work with Homepage customisation. of course you can create custom application and add them in the workset, but most of the mss iviews can be added or removed from iview properties of the page and workset
Also you can check IF_XSS_SER_PROXY_SERVICE
can you describe in detail what you are trying to add or remove any specific service or page?

Hi Jay,
MSS can be configured with HomePage framework, the only problem is managers have to navigate deep inside to get hold for an application.
Even in SAP delivered MSS content related activities is configured through Home Page framework. You will have to elaborate on what exactly is your issue, because technically i don't see any reason why it can't be done.
Thanks
Prashant
