CO02 to change dates after using CM21 to dispatch/schedule order

I used CM21 to schedule a production order. When I use CO02 to change the Basic start and finish dates for that order, a message that the order was saved is received, but the dates were not changed. Why?

I guess you have dispatched the order, so go to CM21, de-allocate the order, save. Now change the dates in CO02 & you can check in CO03.

The basic dates were not changed when using CO02 and there are no messages in SM13 or ST22.

Are you saying that after saving, the Basic dates were not changed? If this is the case, look in ST22 for ABAP dumps, and SM21 in the system log. This is a system type error.

If you are saying that the scheduled dates didn't change, this is probably because you need to manually re-schedule the order before saving, within CO02.
