ABAP webdynpro applications to be accessed through internet

Hello Experts-

I want to reach out to you and get your thoughts on how to have users access ABAP WD applications on Internet. We want to use a custom time entry application and want it to be accessed through internet for our employees on the field. I would appreciate if you can share your thoughts.

Right now, we have portal accessed internally.

You could think about 1)external facing portal

2) You could configure SICF service node so that this application can be accessed via alternative logon procedure and different URL.
