how to upload preference rule in GTS: Can we upload directly in production

Hi All,

Badly need your support in uploading the preference rules in GTS system. We received two XML files from Customsinfo, tried uploading in development system through /SAPSLL/PREF_RULES_UPL program and received below error messages.

Incorrect data in upload files for preference rules

Upload terminate due to error

Need to understand few points like, Can we upload preference rules directly in Production system? If yes how.

Or do we need to upload only in development system and move the transport? If yes how.

Check your config for Preference Rule at SPRO and its link for the error you mentioned.

You can upload into production based on specific authorizations or with firefighter. But the point to be addressed is that this is not a one time activity. How would you manage delta files from customs info? And this would depend on type of customer you are of customsinfo.

So i feel having it automated with hard coding is better approach. Have those files dumped into server and have program to fetch and upload them from there into the GTS production environment. If you look at load preference rule transaction you can see that there is a place to upload the xml files from Application server level.

You can't transport them from dev to prod.

Hi Abir,

Thanks for your great inputs. when we try in QA and PRD system, the error is Logon client 910 has status "can not be changed" That means we need to open client with BASIS help. Since i am new to GTS system, not able to identify the issue.

Hi All,

Actually we got tariff codes and import duty rates XML files from customs info. We will go ahead and upload them, hope there will be no issue.
