BEx query designer removes parentheses

Hi all,

The query designer removes parentheses from a formula after clicking the OK button.

The original formula:

(key-figure1 / 100) * key-figure2

The formula after clicking OK:

key-figure1 / 100 * key-figure2

The formula without the parentheses does not give the desired result. Does anybody know a solution for this.

We are on BW 7.01 and BEx SP8, patch 1, revision 581.

Thanks,

Hans Parmentier.

Hi Arvind,

Thank you for your reply, but it doesn't solve my parentheses issue.

I want to divide KF1 by 100 first and the intermediate result is to be multiplied by KF2.

Without the parentheses the endresult is calculated in one go, causing rounding differences we don't want.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Hans.

hi,

create a CKF KF1/100 and then use it in formula.

CKF*KF2.

IN CKF you can define the decimal places or the rounding off etc.

Arvind.

Hi,

Formula1= (key-figure1 / 100)

Formula2 = Formula1 * key-figure2.

In display properties of Formula1 select 'Always Hide' & also mention number of decimal places.
