S2X editor destroys XLF file

Hi Experts,

Has anyone run into the following scenario:

1) I check out the French version of an XLF file to one of my DCs.

2) I open the file with the S2X editor. Editor report an 'Error occured' message, and cannot view/edit the content

3) i close and reopen the same file with text editor. All translations are gone. The <body> part is completely missing

I tried the same procedure several times, even cut and pasting the translated text manually back into the empty file, but the same phenomenon is happening over rand over again. Obviously, no way to update the exisiting translation. The original file (in our case German) seems to be behaving all right.

Any clue you can share would highly be appreciaetd. (I started opening an OSS message, but the SAP Portal's message composer keeps freezing at the last page).

Thanks for any help in advance.

Huba

I had a similar issue once.

The reason for it in my case was that the XLF file was coded in UTF-8.

However my NWDS used the eclipse standard encoding (Cp1252).

The issue went away after I switched my NWDS file editor encoding to UTF-8 as well.
