Just to add on to above reply, SAP's ASAP method is best way for SAP MDM implementation (my opinion, can differ as per your unique requirment)

Now as far as MDM architecture style of MDM is concern it defines how data move forward, we have four ways of it, Coexistence,Registry,Transactional (Repository MDM) and Consolidation.

Hello SudhaViz

SAP MDM can work as independent solution for master data management.

SAP MDM has own servers( MDM Server, Import Server, Sysndication Server, Layout Server, and user application s for server management and master data management.

SAP MDM can work with different RDBMS like as Oracle , MS SQL, My SQL, DB2.
