How to select the IBASE

Former Member

Because there are too many IBASEs, it's hard to decide which IBASE to pick up.

Is there a way to tell which IBASE is for what purpose?

Thanks !

HI

Ibase typically refers to the system with client

say for e.g you are raising a service desk ticket or change management change doc via CRMD_ORDER tcode etc

then ibase refers to your system with client means say for e.g ERP PRD 100 or BI 700 etc depending upon your situation of current landscape

Hope this helps.

Hi Christy,

There is no perfect solution but you should know that the "Description" field of the IBase is freely editable -- it can be a human-readable description like "PRD - Production ERP client". Just make sure the "Identity" field stays in the format "PRD 0123456789 100" because this field has a technical meaning.

Good idea.

What is the worst consequence in case I select the wrong IBASE?

Thanks!

Hi,

Where are you selecting the IBase.

There can be only one IBASE per SID, Installation Number, Client Combination.

Selecting IBase in ChaRM means that the maintenance cycle involves that particular system.

Feel free to revert back.

What is the context?
