Second you assignment

Assign plant to company code

Go to SPRO - IMG - Enterprise Structure - Assignment - Assign plant to company code

Assign Purch Org. to company code

Go to SPRO - IMG - Enterprise Structure - Assignment - Assign Purch Org. to company code

As far as I remember, a POrg can belong to only one comp. code or to no comp. code. So in case you want to use the central POrg for ordering for plants from different company codes, don't assign it to a comp. code and let the plant steer the comp. code in the PO.

Just wondering, is it just a coincidence that you have 23 comp. codes and 23 plants for each comp. code and finally 23 st. loc's for each plant? What kind of structure it is? It will be tough with 529 plants, unless your system is configured as Retail system.

Hi kumar,

1) As per my understanding you have 23 company codes under each company you have one plant and under each plant you have 23 storage locations... right?..

If this is the structure...you can assign your central purchasing org to all the plants under different company codes, this will act as cent pur org and is dynamicaly linked with comapny codes through plants.

Oh! So you mean something like that:

Central POrg

!--

!--!--!--!---!

Cc1 Cc2 Cc3 Cc4 Cc5 Cc6...

! ! ! ! ! !

Plant1 Plant2 Plant3 Plant4 Plant5 Plant6...

! ! ! ! ! !

SLoc1 SLoc1 SLoc1 SLoc1 SLoc1 SLoc1...

Than it is pretty straightforward structure. Just don't assign the POrg to any comp. code and it can be used for all.

Raf

Sorry for the lousy drawing - it is completely impossible to draw a structure using this editor!

Hi Raf

Thank you for your reply

I design the structure that you have mention below?

its straight forward one . so no need to assign Purch org right .

Thanks lot

Exactly. 23 comp. codes, 23 plants (one per comp. code) and 23 st. loc's (one per plant).

And don't assign the POrg to any comp. code (but do assign it to all the plants).

why should i need to assign purch org to the plant.

Central purch to company code.

Company code to all plant

Plant to all storage loc. Right

So why i need to assign purhg org to Plant.( I dono please explain clearly)

Hi,

if you will assign Central Purchase org. to all the plants then no need to assign it to company codes as the Pur. Org. can then procure for all plants assigned to it, irrespective of the company code to which the plant belongs.

Since each plant must be assigned to a company code, the company code can be determined via the plant in each procurement transaction, even if the procuring purchasing organization is not assigned to a company code.

Thanks & regards,

Plant X will not be able to procure via the central POrg if it's not assigned to it. As simple as that...

But the assignment POrg - comp. code is not necessary, since the comp. code in the PO will be determined by the involved plants.
