Limit on number of Goals in Goals Cascading?

We are implementing Performance Management on EHP4 and have come across a strange scenario.

We are using the goals cascading application for maintaing and cascading goals and the application uses the Accordian Menu (VW_NAVIGATION_ACCORD) from the component HAP_PMP_NAVIGATION_FLEX.

The application works absolutely fine when there are limited number of goals in the system.

Since we are at Mid-year of the appraisal process, we had to do data migration from the old system and we loaded the goals into the system where the number of goals loaded is 400+. (This was done by creating a migration program which uses similar code as in the standard application)

(the number of goals is huge because each business area (org unit.) has a different set of goals)

After the goals have been loaded into the system, the application is not able to handle the huge amount of data and the 'Add Goal' button which usually appears at the bottom of the goals is missing as the application is not displaying all the goals that are in the system.

The cascading application is displaying around 200 goals only.

Suggestions on how to handle this will be much appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

This sounds like a case for an OSS message. There is no technical restriction, or atleast wasn't during the design/implementation. But, 400+ goals is definitely way above the number of entries we anticipated to be handling!

Thank you Maurice,

We have raised a OSS message regarding the same.

Will keep this thread open to update the solution later.

This problem did not happen in the production system.

Our UAT environment setup has comparatively less memory and the server response was very slow when the no. of objectives was large.

I guess it's safe to assume that there is no actual limit on the number of goals unless hindered by the system performance.
