Hey guys.
So we have defined two different layouts ( one similar to SAP original ) and other a bit different with a vertical menu , footer iview etc. Now we want every user to be able to define the framework they want to use ( Both frameworks are in the default desktop).
Normally we define the rules in Desktop Rules Collection but that would mean the user is a admin. We want all users to be able to choose the framework they want to use from the available in the Desktop.
- Is there a way to do this?
Basicly we want something similar to the theme personalize , if the user clicks Personalize , he will also be able to choose the framework he wants to use
Hi ,
A desktop can have only one framework page as default.Your requirement is really different. I will suggest a workaround to satisfy your requirement, try creating two desktop with two framework page and set them as default.Also create two URL alias .In the portal rule collection check for URL alias in which user trying to log in.So user logging with user alias ../a will have desktop1 and user logging with ../b will have desktop 2. Thus the user can use the framework layout he wants.

Hi,
I don think so it is possible for a end user to choose framework page of his own,because the user need admin access to change in the rule collection and all.
Considering your senario the better possibility i am thinking is,create two portal desktop and assign it to two URL Alias
If URL Alias == portal/Framework1
then desktop1(framework1)
If URL Alias == portal/Framework2
then desktop2(framework2)
Inform this portal alias to all the user then they can have framework page of thier own with just changing the URL .
Hope it helps...

Easiest way to do this will be to access the portal with two separate URL aliases, like SAP does for light framework page.
Refer to.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/6e/8590f1d6d349c9adc34c6a8085189b/content.htm
1. Create two aliases to access portal
2. Assign two desktops with two different framework pages to two aliases
3. Modify the rule collection to filter the desktop based on URL.
