Infoset Performance with 3 dso & 1 Cube

Hi,

Do BW infosets have performance issues? I have build an infoset with 3 dso's and a cube. each dso's contain some 40 to 90 K data and cube contains approx. 1 million data. I am doing a headcount report using this model.

Just wanted to clarify if this model will have any performance issues in future or is it good to go.

Can experts help me in this.

Regards,

Anand.

Hi ,

Yes Infosets do tend to have performance issues when the data in your underlying infproviders is huge . It is so because, the system has to perform all kinds of joins at runtime only . And that too if there is a cube in the infoset , this can effect your performance more as it has to travel additional links of DIM id to SID to master data .

So recommended is , if you are able to build your queries using multiprovider , it will improve your performance as it brings the union of the data .

Kindly go through the below PDF to get more clarity :

Hope the above reply was helpful.
