Copying Service Entry Sheet via ML81N

Hi SAP Gurus,

I have an observation and would like to seek for your expertise to explain this concern.

Upon standard posting of Freight Costs via VI01 or VI04, a Service Entry Sheet is created. When we try to access it in ML81N then copy and save it in there, we notice that in table ESSR (Service Entry Sheet: Header Data), the field FKNUM or shipment cost number is not populated on the case of the SES we copied. Why is that so? Logically speaking I think it should copy the original shipment cost but to my surprise it did not. Please explain why. Also, if we tried to populate it upon copy of SES, will we affect some programs and how? Thank you. Regards.

Hi,

While accessing the SES through ML81N, Could you please check and confirm ORIGIN tab is populated or not?

As you said it should copy the original Shipment cost document no in SES.

Hi,

I check the original SES in table ESSR, and found out that it really has the shipment cost number in there. Thanks.

Hi,

This is just a query. Is that really the standard SAP or this is an issue? Thanks.
