KP98 swapping transaction currency to object one;

Former Member

Hi guys,

This is my first post and I would welcome your feedback. I am trying to do a copy between actual and plan version using KP98. All currencies are activated in the controlling area while in transaction currency is set as the leading currency in KP98 selection. What is happening is quite strange. In actuals I have a posting with Transaction Currency CHF, while object/company code curr. is Eur and Controlling Area currency is USD. The plan data version uses a separate exchange rate type which for the actual periods is same with M rate. When dong the copy the transaction currency amount is replaced with the object currency amount, object currency amount is shown properly as well controlling area one. In other words a posting of let's say 100 CHF (TC) 50 EUR (OC) 75 USD (CC), is translatted to 50 EUR (TC) 50 EUR (OC) 75 USD (CC). I checked notes but the only relative one, which referred to distortions of transaction currency while copying but it applies to 4.6-we are running 6.

Any ideas;

Your help will be highly appreciated.

Br

Peter

Hi Peter

In addition to the above, also check whether exchange rate of 1:1 is maintained between CHF and EUR for the exch rate type you are using in Plan

Welcome Peter,

The standard setting for the leading currency plans the transaction currency for costs and the controlling area currency for prices. This is the Standard design, according to notes 100379 & 183556.

I found the following info and I think it's very helpful:

-

You can set a flag "All currencies" for a combination fiscal year/

controlling area (with transaction OKKP). This means, that all (3)

currencies are calculated and written to database.

If this flag is set in your source and target year,

KP98 will copy the values in transaction currency 1:1 and

recalculate values in object currency and controlling area currency

in the target. If the flag is not set in source or target year,

KP98 will copy the values in controlling area currency 1:1.

This is the design of the transaction KP98. A possible solution for

you could be to use the customer exits (See KP98 -> Extras -> Notes,

enhancement COOMKPLV for details) to manipulate the values

in transaction currency. It uses the following function modules:

EXIT_SAPMGPLV_010 and EXIT_SAPMGPLV_020. You can use these to

fix the CO transaction KP98. These are not called for the

PCA transaction though. To view these use transaction CMOD or SMOD.

Please note the help behind setting of "All Currencies" on OKKP states:

"Deactivating the indicator is always possible. You cannot reactivate

it during the ongoing fiscal year, but you can in the following year.

Activation during a fiscal year with existing data is not allowed."

So depending on where you are in your fiscal year, this may or may not

work.

I hope this helps somehow.
