Hello,
We have to installa the Java instance of our ECC 6.0 EHP4 system. This Java instance will also be our Portal and after all an ADS will be installed in it too (al in the same instance).
As our experience implementing such scenario is null, I'd like your advice.
Our platform is W2008 R2 SP1 and SQL server 2008. We know W2008 R2 is supported, but nothig is said about SP1. We have begun the installation and the first verification steps has said something about that "OS release 6.1 is not supported". Despite of this sapinst allows us to continue the installation.
We have used the DVDs:
51037093 Master
51036767 Kernel
The installation has so many errors that we have deleted all the machine and we are installing it again. I will contact the forum with more messages as sson as new error messages appear.
Is what we are doing/going to do possible? Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance for your time and help,
Ana.

Yes - you can ignore that warning according to
Note 1486772 - SAP Systems on Windows Server 2008 R2
You will however need to create a custom kernel DVD.

Hi,
You are doing the right thing.
As far as error (OS release 6.1 is not supported) is concerned, you are getting this error because you might be using old kernel DVD in installation. So use latest kernel available on the SMP then this error will go.
Thanks
Sunny
