Hi,

The use of DS using FM extarction, will depend on the requirement.

Whenever you have to extarct from ECC tables, with selections and look ups are reqd , u will use FM.

Also, when u have to extract from Pooled tabled, you will use FM.

you use a FM if the extraction logic is too complicated, and therefor you can't directly extract from a table or a view.
