Using Activity Hooks to check the configuration

Former Member

There is an operation within ME where the user selects the part for assembly and manually enters in the lot number. The lot number has become a required data value. So we setup an activity hook using CT520 - Check Configuration with a hook point of Pre-complete. Not only does the activity hook check for the part, it also checks against the entire BOM. If any parts are missing the unit will get stuck at the operation. How do you check for the one part and lot number?

Is there something that explains all the rules for each activity?

Marc,

In the BOM you can set the assembly data type field to 'None'. This way this component wil not be set mandatory in the activy hook CT520. Than again, this action will not have the desired result in the as built summary. There is also a system rule 'Allow Assembly Qty As Required'. This rule will add a checkbox on the BOM components where you can decide whether this specific Item should be assembled, or it is just there for information. (not quiete sure whether this rule is specifically build for my customer)
