Will the function of linking universes go away in business objects 4.0 release?

Hai Harris,

Linked universes concept is present in BO4.0 release also.

At the top of page 45 of:

it states:

"A derived universe contains a link to a core universe. When you convert a derived universe, the conversion automatically includes all core universes that the derived universe is linked to. You do not need to convert the core universes ahead of time as a separate step."

Because the conversion "includes" the core universe as part of the derived universe, it appears to strongly suggest that the linkage would not be supported, since a derived universe is no longer linked to its core after it has been included. Rather, the objects of the core universe become part of the derived universe.

Is anyone with specific XI 4 experience able to confirm this?
