Are SMD agent and Byte Code agent need for application server?

We have an MSCS clustered java system with many application servers.

For SMD, we've installed SMD agent and Byte Code agent on the cluster.

We are not sure if we should install SMD agent and Byte Code agent on each application server.

Would you please help explain?

hI

as per SAP recommendation, we should install separate SMD agent for each application server. while parameter selction on installation choose local host(dont go for virtual host) and try.
