Best backup method in sap maxdb

Hi to all,

I would like to know what is best backup and restore method in maxdb so that we can restore the data successfully.

actually i know the process of doing backup with dbmcli commands. Suggest me best method of doing backup in Maxdb in linux operatiing system.

If you have got a R/3 system the most comfortable option to do a backup is using transaction DB13 inside the R/3 system. This allows you to schedule backups using the R/3 job scheduler. DB13 can be used both for the local database (i.e., the database where the R/3 is installed on) and also for external datbases (e.g. a MaxDB without R/3).
