Accessing Component Name & View name

Hi All,

im facing different situation as there is requirement to enhance the WBS element in the Timesheet entry of Travel & Expenses in the portal but on click on the screen Timesheet entry it is not displaying the Field help /

Provide your valuable suggestions to proceed further

HI ,

Do you mean to say that, you are not able to find out the standard component name from the portal iview?

Please clarify.

Right click on the screen,select 'more field help' ..This should give you the component name.

Exactly on right Click on the portal placing the cursor on the WBS element

it not providing the Field help option

HI,

Probably,WDDISABLEUSERPERSONALIZATION application paramater is set , hence you are not able to make user settings on the field.

But still the component name should be available from the 'right click->more field help' on the screen.

Hi,

Go to application->parameters tab and check whether help is disable or not? WDDISABLEUSERPERSONALIZATION if you have assigned this remove that.

Click anywhere on the view (some other place than WBS element). it will open the context menu with the option of 'More field help'.

you cannot do wt kris is suggesting without knowing the component name.

and we are doing this all to know the component name only.

so this way nothing will happen.

even if disableuserpersonalisation parameter is active it will not deactivate the more field help option.

so i guess problem is soemthing else here.

are you not getting this thing anywhere on the view.

means wt r u getting in the right click menu when you right click.

Hi,

You may have to explain little bit more and provide more details.

Both Component Controller and view controller provides API for getting around the controllers.

For the view.

wd_this->wd_get_api( ) would provide a controller of type IF_WD_VIEW_CONTROLLER

IF_WD_VIEW_CONTROLLER has a attribute IF_WD_CONTROLLER~NAME. Which will give you the name.

For the controller:

wd_this->wd_get_api( ) would provide a controller of type IF_WD_COMPONENT

IF_WD_COMPONENT has a attribute IF_WD_CONTROLLER~NAME. Which will give you the name.
