Images in MDM 5.5 SP5

Hello All,

I have imported about 100 images in Images Table using Data Manager. While doing so, I selected "Link to original file only" option.

My images are located in C:\Images.

I deleted the Images folder itself from the C drive but I could still see the Images in my Images Table. How is that possible when I selected the option "Link to original file only"?

Why can I see the Images in Images Table in Data Manager even though I physically deleted the Images from my harddisk?

For each imported(or linked) image MDM create tumbnail.

Maybe have you seen not original images but their tumbnails?

Oh Ok. So, if those are thumbnails, Will I still be able to link one of them to a Main Table record? That is what I am able to do.

Sure, you can link thumbnails to main table record.

But

SAP MDM doesn't monitor picture presence.

if you delete original picture you can get error message when you'd like to see it.

Link usage is the better solution because you don't store pictures in repository and you can easy modify source pictures.
