Hi Experts,
I have scenario where finished products will be planned at product group level on Metric Ton unit. The finished product base unit will be KM.
The dependent raw materials unit will be EA,KG,Meter,PC etc. How can I handle this scenario in APO DP. The demand should be transferred to ECC system on base unit of raw materials for creating PIRs for raw materials.
thanks and regards

Hi Murugesan,
You have 2 options,
1. Only using DP - You can create Aggregate POS with Product Group as the aggregate level and create the forecast at product group level. If your unit is within same dimension, system will automatically adopt the values. While releasing the data do it at FG level to the ECC system. In ECC system either ways you have your BOM defined and material master for the raw materials are defined as well.
2. Using DP & SNP - This is when you want to see the raw material information also in APO. Create the aggregate at product group level and release the data to SNP at product level. Bring all the master data to APO from ECC and execute the SNP planning, there by creating the dependent requirements and PIR for raw materials.
Thanks,

When the dimensions of the units are different for units between planning area and dependent products, we need to maintain Alternative UOM for planning area and dependent materials.

Hi,
Maintain TON as planning area UOM and maintain unit conversion for TO in each material with its base UOM.
CIF the materials to APO.
System will work perfectly this way.
