APO users report an activex error when using /SAPAPO/CDPSO
Error is: Illegal objecttype in BarifEstimateChartforObject
I noted that the file in the Front End SAPGUI folder: sapbarc.ocx is changed with Patch 6
Previously we were at Patch 3.
Anyone else?

Hello Bob
that is not my mistake...
Sorry for the trouble with the note.
I wll contat the developer for this behaviour. But i have seen in the
info file ( internally ) for Sapgui patch 7, that this note is includin in the
Sapgui Patch 7
Of course if you have no problems you can use the old file. But i dont know
if this have an influence on other transactions....
If the Sapgui patch 7 is released, please install it on your frontends.
Best regards.
Sven
Hello Ingo Seeberg-Hinrichs,
SAP support provided us patch 6 hotfix 3 which addressed this problem fully.
If you use this you will also need SAPSETUP_PATCH.exe which they released about a week ago, to correct problem where LSH could not be configured on the installation server after applying patch 6. You will get 'Access Denied' message.
The setup patch also corrected a problem with VERY SLOW install times from SAP Installation servers which were running Server 2008 R2.
So you need them both .... or wait until patch 7 releases.
Good luck,
Bob

Thanks. I have also found that by putting the file sapbarc.ocx from patch 3 back into the SAPGui folder on systems with Patch 6, the user can work without the error dialog appearing.
sapbarc.ocx 7200.1.3.481 Works with Patch 6 Gui
sapbarc.ocx 7200.2.6.493 Causes pop up error with Patch 6 Gui

Sven,
I opened an OSS Message as you requested. I was give the following response:
Dear Customer,
Many thanks for the information provided. Could you please kindly check

SAP NOTE 1584140 Simply documents it as a known issue and states it will be fixed with a future patch release. No workaround is provided thus there is 'Nothing' to apply with this note. I really would like to know is it okay to simply replace the Patch 6 version of sapbarc.ocx with the one from Patch 3 which does not generate the error. I have four users testing with this configuration and no problems reported. Thank you, Bob H
