Control M Issue

We are setting up Control M to run process chains in BW 7.01 and encounting an error.

I saw one other post with the same error, but no resolution. Has anyone seen this?

CONTROL-M/CM for SAP detected the following SAP error:

Error message: RFC RSPC_API_CHAIN_SCHEDULE - RFC_CLOSED, Invalid RFC handle or\

connection already closed. RFC listen max retries was reached and aborted

Error code: 6

Hello Fett,

Can you check in SMGW logged on clients whether any errors are there.

Kindly also visit the gateway parameter for maximum gateway connections gw/max_conn.

Check also whether that RFC is working fine too.

I did a gateway trace, sm50, and st05 trace. The control-m connect user appears to be running several function modules including the one that gets the error. I'm just not sure why it is not succesful. The ST05 trace stops with the function module being run. In SM50, i can also see activity by the control-m connect user, but i can not tell why it is failling. Security trace shows no problems.

I like your idea of trying the RFC manually, I need to get security updated so I could login and try that.

Did you checked SM21, I knew CTRL-M is a job scheduling tool, but is this happening only with this job or other jobs as well.
