cProjects 5.0: standalone usage

Former Member

Is possible to use the newest version of cProjects (5.0) standalone from RPM?

I need only cProjects Suite without RPM. I installed PPM 5.0 and now I'm not able to isolate cProjects.

Help me, please.

Regards

Hi,

installation is always for the complete component CPRXRPM which contains the complete SAP Portfolio and Project Management 5.0 (plus cFolders).

Of course, you can use only the Project Management part of 5.0 (which was known as cProjects until 4.5),

e.g. by removing the menus related to the Portfolio Managment part of 5.0 (which was know as SAP RPM until 4.5) from the roles (PFCG role SAP_BPR_PPM, tab menu OR portal role: remove the Portfolio Management related worksets). These are per delivery anyway only "showcase" roles containing the overall set of possible menus.

But (if you are looking for something like that), there is no single switch or customizing or something similar to do this with one click.

Kind regards,

Florian

Hi Luca,

cProjects 4.5 also wasn't freeware

The license model is basically the same for 5.0 as for 4.5, please see SAP Note 1377104

(FAQs for 5.0):

Licenses:

SAP Portfolio and Project Management 5.0 is available as

"Supplementary Product" from SAP. Depending on the use case you

might require a separate license for "SAP Portfolio and Project

Management" plus the appropriate number of application user

licenses. If you are just using the project management

capabilities of SAP Portfolio and Project Management, you do just

need to license the appropriate number of professional or

limited professional users. For further information, please

contact your sales personnel.

Kind regards,

Florian

Thanks Florian...

But about License?

The older version of cProjects 4.5 is freeware while xRPM 4.5 is licensed...

Thenks again,

Luca
