What is the purpose of valuation mode in Sample

What is the concept in valution mode

Pls give me a details answer

In simple terms : "rule for accepting or rejecting a characteristic or a sample." is what valuation mode.

Now say you have Qualitative Char -->for valuating this char you need to have Attribute type of valuation which may be based on "No of defects,No of Non conforming units etc as per Std SAP

Say you have Quantitative char -->then valuating this char you need to have Variable type of valuation which may be again

S-method or char attribute

there can be another valuation like manual ( means you manually determine whether char is accepted or rejected during Result Recording "
