Hi all,

i receive the following error trying to install Netweaver TREX 7.11 on RedHat when I have to specify ID, System Number and mount directory:

An SAP system ID PTR is already in use. DIAGNOSIS: The SAP system ID you chose is already in use on this host. SOLUTION: Enter another SAP system ID for the new TREX system or choose "Update a TREX system" in the SAPinst catalog to update the existing PTR-system.

File _installchecks.log under sapinst directory reports the following:

This is the list of every instance on this host, but i don't understand why sapinst thinks that there is a system named PTR already installed.

Any help is appreciated.

Did you checked this entry:

'trex PTR 20 /usr/sap/PTR /usr/sap/PTR/TRX20 DI None None None None DEFAULT'

Check if there is a directory with PTR.

Thanks

Hi Nicola,

how much time!!

The problem was with the path of the shared directory (this is a distributed installation). Previously it was under /usr/sap/<SID>, putting that on another path solved my problem.

Hope this help you.

Ciao!
