Not able to connect to Repository

Hi,

We have several repositories connected to Dev Server out of which we have changed the Admin Password of One repository

Since the import server has not worked, we have changed the password of that repository only in Import Server and asked to Restart the servers

Only the Import server is up that time, Basis team found that the Database User ID is locked and he changed the password of it and reinstate to the original password and started the all the 3 serves (MDS,MDIS,MDSS)

Now all the servers are up and running, but we are not able to connect to any of the repository which is connected to that server using Admin User ID , Password

Basis team tried to default the Admin password of that repository using the below link

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_mdm71/helpdata/en/49/afebbe8a26200de10000000a42189c/content.htm

But still we couldnt able to crack the issue

Can u please advice us the way forward...

I am on the implementation project and it really stopped our entire work

Thanks in advance for your valuable inputs

Regards,

Antony

Hi Antony,

This will happen when the MDM server is not in sync with the Database server.

First Restart the Database server and then restart the MDM server and load the repository by updating indices.

Then you will be able to connect to the repository.

Try this and let me know if this has solved your problem or not.

Hi,

The Basics guys has fixed the issue and it is working

They told that the issue has happened because the Database password has changed

Thanks for the answers

Antony

Hi Antony,

USERNAME AND/OR PASSWORD INVALID with reason 24 is may due to

The username specified, password specified, or both, are invalid. Some specific causes are:

1. If you have recently changed permissions on DB2 critical files such as db2ckpw or moved to a new Fixpak, the db2iupdt command which updates the instance might not have been run.

2. The username being used might be in an invalid format. For example, on UNIX and Linux platforms, usernames must be all be lowercase.

3. An error might have been made in specifying the catalog information. For example, the correct authentication type might not have been specified or, if applicable, the remote server might not have been cataloged on the local system. For more information on authentication, search the DB2 Information Center (http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/db2luw/v9) using terms such as "authentication".

Please ask your BASIS guy to check on this, whether he used the proper case while resetting the password for the user.
