Index not found for segment - ignoring segment

Hi Gurus,

I have found the below given entries in the checkDB log.

The issue is after 10g to 11g Oracle upgrade.

System details are : SAP NW 7 EHP1 (Kernel 701), oracle 11g, AIX.

We have daily DBstats running,

updated BRtools patches,

have run "brconnect -u / -c -f stats -t all -f collect -p 4" manually,

dropped temp tables via SAP_DROP_TMPTABLES,

DBDIFF have /BIC/FATCO_ACT and /BIC/FATCO_RT

All these didnt help, could you please suggest how i can get this resolved.

The issue is resolved by dropping the above index during BI loading by our BI consultants.

Solution is brtools patching as per reference to note Note 1553244 - Long runtimes of BRCONNECT function "check"

See below comment:

This correction may cause the system to issue BR0838W warnings in BR*Tools 7.20, for example:

BR0838W Index /BIC/FYWICCATS_{140 not found for segment SAPSR3./BIC/FYWICCATS}140./BIC/FYWICCATS0000000058 - ignoring segment

This problem is corrected in BR*Tools 7.20 patch 14.

You should run at least BR*Tools 7.20 patch 14

Check for missing indexes and try to adjust database table indexes ( DB02 and SE14 )

Hi Vinod,

I forgot to add that point, the table or index in the below log are not available in DB02 >Diagnostics> Missing Tables and Indexes and i have adjusted /BIC/FAT_CEXTR in SE14

Hello Kiran,

I wouldn't worry about these BR0838W messages. I have seen

them on other SAP BW systems on Oracle 11g and they were ignored.

As long as DB02 -> Diagnostics -> Missing Tables and Indexes is ok

there is no need to intervene.

Maybe your DBATOOLS are outdated? Try using the latest version

of brconnect 7.20, if you are lucky the message will vanish.

Hi ,

As i have mentioned earlier all DBAtools patches (br*) are latest.

Any other way to get rid of this.
