Unable to download .docx file in webdynpro abap

We have file download UI element in our application. While downloading the .docx file via 'Save' option in the 'Download File' pop-up, the file gets downloaded properly and we are able to view the contents of the same. But when we choose the option 'Open' in the 'Download File' pop-up, a blank window appears and we are not able to view the file contents. The context mappings are perfect. Internally, the MIME type of the .docx file is saved as 'application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.wordprocessingml.document'. Can anyone tell why the contents of the file could not be viewed while opening the file but can be viewed when saved as local file?

Hi,

I am not sure if this is something to do with the Office version you have installed in the desktop. Even if you have lower than office 2007, i would expect that it should convert to 2003 from docx of 2007 format.

yes. Besides, we have MS word 2007 installed in our desktop. Anyone, has idea what could be the possible reasons that we get only blank window and not able to view the contents
