Hi,

You can refer following SAP Notes to get detailed Information about the step by step Restore-procedure.

[SAP Note 193816 - Restore with SQL Server|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/193816]

[SAP 1183755 - How can you restore a SQL Server dump?|https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap%28bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==%29/bc/bsp/sno/ui_entry/entry.htm?param=69765F6D6F64653D3030312669765F7361706E6F7465735F6E756D6265723D3131383337353526]

You can restore that old SQL DB Backup, either through SQL RESTORE command or through SQL Server Management Studio.

You will need to install SQL Server + SAP Application Server with normal SAP Installation procedure with sam <SAPSID>. Then you can restore that old SQL backup dump with the help of above mentioned SAP Notes. Please read them carefully.

You may require to run STM tool as mentioned in [SAP Note 683447 - SAP Tools for MS SQL Server|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/683447], after SQL DB restore.

To get more information , also you can refer [SAP Note 1420452 - FAQ: Restore and recovery with MS SQL Server|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1420452]

yes, you can do it in case of Pure ABAP system. But in case of JAVA or ABAP+JAVA you need export of source system as well.

Other mandatory part is DDIC / 000 (in case of ABAP) & Administrator or J2ee_admin password (in case of JAVA or ABAP+JAVA)

Hello,

Check the installation guide for the MS SQL Server specific procedure.

For example, in the "System Copy for SAP Systems Based on SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SR3 ABAP+Java" this procedure is described in session "5.3 MS SQL Server-Specific Procedure".

You can also find any other necessary file in the following website:

http://service.sap.com/instguides
